Sebagai warga negara Indonesia yang baik, salah satu hal yang harus diurus jika kita ingin melakukan perjalanan ke luar negeri adalah Paspor. Jika kita mengurus paspor, maka lembaga pemerintah yang akan kita hubungi tentunya adalah kantor imigrasi.
Mengunjungi kantor imigrasi Indonesia akan terasa sekali kesan birokrasinya, ini tampak dengan pengaturan tempat parkir oleh tukang parkir ilegal, ruang tunggu yang rata-rata tidak ber-AC dan sumpek, susunan kursi tunggu seperti suasana di terminal bis, kebutuhan akan informasi bagi pengunjung yang baru pertama kali datang ke imigrasi masih sangat minim dan urutan antrian tidak jelas. Kesannya seperti kantor yang tidak siap untuk melayani masyarakat dengan aroma ramah, nyaman dan menyenangkan.
Sangat jauh jika kita bandingkan dengan beberapa instansi negara yang dulu birokrat tapi sekarang sudah menanggalkan wajah birokratnya, malah sudah mengutamakan kepentingan pelanggan seperti kantor pelayanan Telkom, grapari Telkomsel, pelayanan Bank BNI, Bank Mandiri dan instansi lainnya yang sudah berubah.
Sedangkan
wajah kusut instansi imigrasi tempat dimana hampir sebagian besar masyarakat mengurus paspor, masih menampilkan
banyaknya agen-agen perjalanan yang mengurus paspor atau barangkali lebih tepat disebut
calo dengan nama lain, belum lagi masih terlihatnya
pemberian tip-tip uang yang secara sembunyi-sembunyi diberikan oleh masyarakat yang mengurus paspor dengan harapan tentunya berkas pengurusan paspor mereka lebih cepat diproses, atau masih banyaknya
kesan memperlambat melayani masyakarat yang mengurus ijin paspor jika tanpa dimulai dengan pemberian uang tip kepada petugas imigrasi.
Kalau sudah mengurus sesuatu ditempat seperti ini…. hanya ada satu kata yang pantas kita ucapkan “menyebalkan”.
Kemarin istri baru saja mengurus paspor untuk si kecil, istri harus bolak-balik sebanyak 4 kali dan memakan waktu kurang lebih 7 hari untuk mengurus paspor secara resmi.
- Hari pertama kita mengambil formulir, mengisi dan memasukkan dokumen. Harga formulir Rp.5rb
- Hari kedua menyerahkan formulir dan dokumen yang diwajibkan (formulir yang sudah diisi, fotocopy KTP, KK & akte Lahir) lalu disuruh balik 3 hari kemudian.
- Balik lagi hari ke-5, lalu bayar berkas (Rp.275.000), antri untuk diphoto dan antri untuk wawancara. Setelah itu disuruh balik lagi 2 hari kemudian.
- Balik lagi hari ke-7, untuk mengambil paspor.
Halo… halo….instansi imigrasi, apakah harus memakan waktu yang begitu lamakah untuk mengurus sebuah paspor? Sangat tidak profesional dan tidak memberikan rasa nyaman kepada masyarakat yang mengurus paspor melalui jalur resmi. Atau mungkin ini memang yang diharapkan, dengan mengurus paspor melalui calo dengan harga sekitar 700rb - 1jt, akan jauh lebih baik karena ada pungli yang bisa dijadikan penghasilan tambahan bagi petugas imigrasi? Kapankah petugas imigrasi bisa membuat tersenyum masyarakat yang mengurus paspor?
Jadi pantas bukan saja kan, negara kita tidak pernah bisa menjadi negara maju kalau sistem dan petugas pemerintahannya masih banyak yang tidak profesional.

Ada yang berminat mau jalan-jalan ke negara Eropa ngak dalam waktu dekat ini? Kalau mau jalan-jalan ke Eropa dari Indonesia, tentu kita kudu mengurus
VISA untuk ijin masuk ke negara tersebut.
Sejak tahun 1985, ada 7 (tujuh) negara Eropa yang mengadakan kesepakatan untuk melakukan perjanjian mengenai batas kontrol teritory antar negara untuk pendatang/turis. Sebelum EU (Europe Union) bersatu dan membentuk negara Uni Eropa, kelompak yang tergabung dalam EU belum sebanyak sekarang.
Tetapi sekarang, negara-negara yang mengikatkan diri dalam perjanjian Schengen tersebut menjadi berjumlah 15 negara. Sehingga kalau kita mau melakukan perjalanan ke Eropa, cukup kita mengurus satu VISA saja, kemudian kita bisa lintas batas ke negara Eropa lain yang terikat perjanjian Schengen tsb tanpa harus memiliki VISA negara itu.
Jadi kalau mau traveling ke Eropa tetapi hanya jalan pada suatu negara saja, rasanya rugi deh …kenapa tidak diteruskan untuk melancong ke negara tetangganya. Intinya kalau kita pergi ke negara-negara Eropa, cukup melamar VISA di negara yang mau didatangi pertama kali (first entry) atau negara yang akan paling lama di tinggali (destinasi utama). Maka sekali dapat satu entri VISA negara Eropa maka kita dapat masuk multi entri ke 15 negara lainnya.
15 negara yang tergabung dalam negara Schengen yaitu: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. Schengen Agreement berbeda konsep dengan Europe Union (Masyarakat Eropa). Jadi belum tentu semua anggota Eropa menganut Schengen. Misalnya : UK & Ireland, walau anggota EU tapi ngga ikutan Schengen. Sebaliknya Norway dan Iceland bukan anggota EU tapi masuk dalam perjanjian Schengen.
Kalau sudah mengurus VISA Schengen dan melakukan jalan-jalan ke Eropa, jangan lupa ya bawa oleh-olehnya ……ehm……ehm….

- The rooms are set in a family style compound and the family still lives here. There are a couple of centrally located ‘bales’ or open sided shelters and the whole thing feels very traditional. There is a temple on site too. A white tiled piled and bamboo porch furniture is the first aspect of the room a visitor sees. The family keeps birds in cages and this place is very reminiscent of losmans in Ubud.

- I talked to a traveler who has been here for 12 days. He said he liked the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the place. He said there is always a man on the door at night and plenty of relatives around offering transport options. He said he’d stay here again.

- The garden that leads to the rooms has plenty of shady trees and bushes. There is also and internet-service.
- There are 2 swimming pools and a restaurant that serves breakfast ( which is included ) and lunch.
- I talked to 2 European travelers who said the hotel was good value with a central location, “The best you can find around here for the money”. I asked if there was anything that wasn’t good and they said the hand held shower wasn’t too good and the breakfast didn’t offer much.

- I talked to a guest from Australia who had been back many times. He said he liked Kedin’s Inn because it was cheap and close to the beach. The low point is that sometimes other guests walk past late at night making a lot of noise. Breakfast is simple but okay.

- Construction is in progress on a 2 level block right now.
- The grounds are large and well kept with swimming pool. The restaurant is located at the front next to Poppies I and has a large traditional bamboo / alang alang roof. I had lunch of grilled snapper for 17,000rp and it was good.
- The restaurant is a relaxing place to be and the staff are very polite and friendly.
- Breakfast is included.
- Massage is available. There is a tour and transport office located at the front of the hotel.

Di setiap kota besar di Indonesia, ada fenomena tempat kuliner yang sudah bertahan selama bertahun-tahun, malah ada yang lebih dari satu abad yang masih tetap bertahan sampai sekarang. Kalau di Bandung ada BMC (Bandoengsche Melk Centrale), di Palembang sempat bertahan RM Sari Rasa walaupun sekarang sudah tutup, begitupun di kota lain.
Kalau di kota Medan, resto Tip Top tetap bisa bertahan selama lebih dari satu abad mulai dari jaman penjajahan Belanda, dan resto ini menjadi salah satu saksi sejarah kota Medan. Resto Tip Top ini terletak di jalan Ahmad Yani, atau dikenal dengan daerah Kesawan Medan. Kawasan ini merupakan kawasan paling tua di Medan yang masih banyak berdiri bangunan jaman dulu yang sudah mulai usang ditelan kerasnya jaman.

Perjalanan ke Jakarta sering kali banyak hal yang tidak terduga, ada yang sesuai prediksi dan ada yang jauh dari prediksi. Untuk perjalanan sekali ini, prediksi dan kenyataaan dikabulkan Allah dan persis sesuai perkiraan. Begini ceritanya ….
Perjalanan ke Jakarta untuk urusan kerja dimulai saat harus ke daerah Cililitan, kemudian selagi menunggu teman yang baru malam akan mendarat di Jakarta, kami memutuskan untuk hang-out ke suatu mall. Syarat mall itu pertama ada banyak wi-fi dan kedua banyak tempat makan, maklum sebagai backpaper kepepet mengahbiskan waktu untuk menunggu disuatu tempat yang banyak wi-fi merupakan kenikmatan yang tiada tara.
Karena posisi kami sudah di Cililitan maka kami harus melakukan list mall mana yang harus kami kunjungi. Awalnya ada ide ke kalibata mall dan Tamini, tapi leave it all. Mall itu peluangnya tipis untuk dapat akses wi-fi yang banyak.
Akhirnya kami putuskan untuk ke
Citos (Cilandak Town Square), dan voila……..pandangan mata menuju ke semua cafe yang notabene memiliki fasilitas wi-fi, JCO, Star buck, Dome, dll. Akhirnya setelah memesan donut dan minum di
JCO, scanning wi-fi, searching dan finding :
